What I’m reading: “My life in France” by Julia Child

Yes, I am reading 2 books at once. Smile After seeing “Julie and Julia”, I was so intrigued by the snippets of Juila Child’s private life, that I couldn’t wait to find this book at the library. I am already in love with it and I’m only on the second chapter.  It is refreshing to read how Julia became so enchanted with France after she and Paul moved there and how she approached this new challenge with abandon  to learn about the language, culture, and food.

It is inspiring and encouraging for me to seek out an experience like this with my own sweet husband—we both would love to go on a “tasting tour” of the world. I also love stories of how someone embarks on something new and fresh in their lives that forever transforms them…not matter what age they begin this new adventure.

This was also Paula Deen’s story and also a nurse that I worked with who didn’t even enter nursing school until age 50. It is never too late to learn something new. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2000, and LOVE the medical field…but, over the past 2 years, I have been feeling more drawn towards pursuing the title of pastry chef or bakery owner. Who knows where life will take me…but I  am enjoying every step of the journey and LOVE that I am on this journey with my own sweet Paul, Christopher Ross. Smile {Paul was Julia Child’s husband, whom she adored and who adored her}
